Scripture references for this meditation are:
Ephesians 6:12 “For our struggle is not against enemies of blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places”.
Isaiah 65:17 For I am about to create new heavens and a new earth; the former things shall not be remembered or come to mind.
2 Peter 3:13 But, in accordance with his promise, we wait for new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness is at home.
Luke 21:18-19 But not a hair of your head will perish. 19By your “gaining control” (endurance) you will gain your (earthly) lives.”
The end of the world is not the end of life on the earth. Indeed the Scriptures point toward and end to all evil (i.e. “the world”), but not to the earth that God loves. The Hebrew view of life is not the Hellenistic view which limits the hope for redemption to an immortal soul. Rather the Bible demands the resurrection of the body and life everlasting on God’s redeemed “new” earth.
